, Redditch Round Table !
The concept and ethos of
Round Table....
In a
nutshell, we are about
Fun,
Friendship
and
Fundraising
in that order.
We are about having fun in a social sense
with a bit of gentle fund-raising thrown in. It's different than a night
down the boozer and yet a lot of our time is in the local pubs . What's
more, you get a real sense of belonging to something rather special. Not
so easy to find these days.
Fundraising, to help local worthwhile causes takes up less than 20% of
Round Table activities, but it is great fun, as well as personally
rewarding. Round Table members get to use their imagination to bring a
smile to those who really do need and appreciate a little help now and
then!
Many of you will have seen
Santa and his merry band of helpers/snowmen around the town last
Christmas and helped Redditch Round Table raise over £9,000. I am
pleased to confirm that Santa has allowed us to accompany him again this
year during December, but what a target to better !!
Redditch Round Table is well
known for its fundraising but it’s the 80% of tabling that is the best
kept secret.
Successful events in the past year, with Andy Smith as Chairman
included; hosting a great Euro weekend with French, south African,
Dutch and German Tables attending ; Redditch are the area sporting
trophy winners; other events included clay pigeon shooting; karting,…..
and the odd beer or two!
This year the ‘Euro Weekend' is hosted by the Dutch and we are
looking forward to attending in force, to have a drink or two and see
the sights of
Amsterdam.
We are also intending to
attempt archery, paint ball, karting, laser quest, Dog Racing…..and the
odd beer or two!
Redditch Round Table is organisation for men between the ages of
25 and 45. In addition to fundraising, we offers a year-round social
circle for both members and their families.
